Larson-Nelson Funeral Home provided the following news release:

LaMoyne R. “Butch” Nielsen, age 69 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on April 1, 1943 in Omak, WA the son of LaVern and Ruby (Warp) Nielsen.

Butch was united in marriage on February 14, 1982 to the former Miss Barbara LoCoco and they spent the next 30 happy years together. Mr. Nielsen was a member of Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. He was employed by AT & T until his retirement. Butch was a supporter of Yorkville athletics beyond the years that his sons attended. He loved to volunteer his time to video tape football and wrestling events. His hobbies include model airplanes, hunting, fishing, and camping. His favorite teams were the Bears and White Sox. Butch was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Butch is survived by his wife, Barbara Nielsen of Yorkville, IL; his sons, Jeffrey Nielsen of Warrenville, IL, James Nielsen of Warrenville, IL, Paul Nielsen of Tampa, FL and Brett (Kim) Nielsen of Davenport, IA; his grandson, Jeffrey Nielsen of Payson, AZ; his brother, Lawrence (Katy) Nielsen of Portland, OR; his sister, Patricia Dufort of Newberg, OR; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, LaVern and Ruby Nielsen.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 East Countryside Parkway in Yorkville, IL with Pastor Herbert Grieves, officiating. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 East Countryside Parkway in Yorkville, IL.
