Kathryn L. Gaw Gengler, age 90, of Plano, IL passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 at her daughter’s home.  She was born January 11, 1922 in Farmington, IL, the daughter of Josiah and Rena (Passini) Ramsden.

Mrs. Gengler was a longtime member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and its Alter and Rosary Society in Plano, IL.  She was a member, and past President of the Plano American Legion Auxiliary Post #395 Woman’s Auxiliary in Plano, IL. During the 1970’s, Kathryn enjoyed living in Wisconsin. Kathryn enjoyed many hobbies, including making Barbie clothes, sewing for her grandchildren, quilting and cross stitching.  She also entered many items in both the Sandwich Fair and the Big Rock Plow Match, where she won many purple ribbons.  Kathryn was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by four children, Susan (Ted) McCannon, Big Rock, IL, Dennis L. (Debi) Gaw, Oswego, IL, Steven M. Gaw, Plano, IL, and Roxanne L. Brunner, Naperville, IL; her grandchildren, Kelly S. McCannon, Kimberly K. (Frank) Willman, Klarissa M. McCannon, Karma (Jim) Bell, Kristin L. Brunner, Steven C. Gaw, and Tiffany Newton; her great-grandchildren, Kasey, Jacob, Katherine, Thomas, Ava and Ronald; her brother, Charles (Betty) Ramsden, Plano, IL; her sisters, Donna  Needham, Plano, IL, Marguerite Ronneau, CA, and Lauretta (Howard) Holstine, Hustisford, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Leonard DeVerghne Gaw, the father of her children; her granddaughter, Heather R. Brunner; her half-brother, James Ramsden; her sister, Marguerite Ramsden; her aunt, Olga Passini; and her brother-in-law, Jerry Needham.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1001 N. Center Ave., Plano, IL. 

Friends may visit from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the Funeral Home in Plano.
