Newark 4th of July Committee Announces Button Design Winner

Each year the students in Newark High School’s Computer
Graphics Class have the opportunity to contribute designs for the buttons that
will be sold during the 4th of July activities.

The class is a semester long class designed to allow the
students to discover the drawing, painting and image making applications of
professional imaging editing software.
Students create works of fine art and explore product design using the elements and principles of art.  The
class is taught by Bill Blidy.

Sixty-two designs were submitted to the committee for them
to choose one that best represents the Theme of the Year – this year’s theme is
“Oh Beautiful for Spacious Skies”.  One
was chosen and the winner of the button contest was won by Zac Nichols a freshman at Newark High School.  Zac will
receive button number 1000 and the design will be permanently archived at the
Fern Dell Museum in Newark.

Congratulations Zac on your winning design.
