Mike's Auto Body Still Collecting Pop Tabs For Charity
Sandwich, IL – Mike's Auto Body would like to remind the public that they are still collecting the pull tabs off of aluminum cans in order to support the Chicagoland Ronald McDonald House Charities. So far, the Sandwich based business has collected over two five gallon jugs of tabs and they are hoping to collect many more for the charity.
Ronald McDonald House Charities began the recycling program as a way to raise funds for their more than 300 homes that are located throughout the world. Only the pull tab is collected because they are clean, compact, easy to collect and they have the highest-grade aluminum in the entire can making it the most valuable part of the can.
Once the pull tabs are collected, Mike's Auto Body drops the tabs off at one of four Ronald McDonald Houses that are in the Chicagoland area. The charity partners with United Scrap to help facilitate the recycling of the tabs. United Scrap also makes a matching donation when the tabs are recycled. Last year, the pull tab drive raised over $40,000 for the charity.
If you have aluminum pull tabs you would like to donate, feel free to drop them off at Mike's Auto Body which is located at 2690 E Church St in Sandwich. If you have any questions, please call Stacy Skillin at 815-786-8222.
