"Lost In the 50's" Brings Decade of Hits to Follies Stage

The Follies Theatre provided the following news release:

Downtown Yorkville's Follies Theatre kicked off their summer production of "Lost In The 50's" last weekend with what is being billed as a "high-octane, high-energy celebration of the music and fun of the Fifties," and is playing a limited engagement through July 29.

Starring cast members (pictured left to right), Erin Van Vactor, Kevin Gumm, Leslie Smith, Don Grant Zellmer, and Blythe Gilio, the show features over two dozen iconic hits of the 1950's, along with a liberal dose of comedy, banter, dancing, and an on-stage "live movie" that recreates the Ed Wood-esque thrillers so popular at drive-ins during the era--complete with miniature flying saucers and selected audience members taking key parts in the "movie."

With hits like "Chantilly Lace," "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On," "Johnny Angel," and many more, the show features a beach party in Act I which takes the cast--and audience to the beach for a summer of love, told through the music and comedy that intertwines the music.

"Lost In The 50's" plays Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm through July 29. Reservations may be made by calling the Follies Theatre Box Office at (630) 385-2535. More information is available at the Follies website, www.folliestheatre.com.
