Kendall County CrimeStoppers Upgrades Phone Service

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office provided the following news release:

Kendall County CrimeStoppers is excited to introduce their new upgraded phone system which was designed to improve the experience for those providing tips. The new phone system will now be answered 24-hours a day year round by a person instead of a recording. This allows the caller to talk to someone while still protecting their identity.

All callers to CrimeStoppers remain anonymous.  After providing a tip callers are given a code number to be used for reference.  They can then call the same number and check the status of their tip and potential reward.  Cash rewards are paid for information which assists local law enforcement agencies in the identification and arrest of a perpetrator of a criminal offense, a fugitive from justice, or information leading to the recovery of stolen property.  All rewards are disbursed in a way that protects the identity of the caller.

Kendall County CrimeStoppers is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to reducing crime in Kendall County. Crime Stoppers operates from the concept that for just about every crime committed, someone other than the offender has information concerning the incident. If you have information relating to a crime that has been committed and wish to remain anonymous, you can report it to Kendall County Crime Stoppers at 1-630-553-5999 and be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.

Currently there are five agencies that utilize Kendall County Crime Stoppers: Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery Police Department, Oswego Police Department, Plano Police Department, and the Yorkville Police Department.

CrimeStoppers cannot exist without the help of concerned citizens from the community.  It receives it’s funding by donations, which are can be sent to P.O. Box 654, Montgomery, IL 60538
