Stephanie Ho of Yorkville High School provided the following news release:

On May 11, YHS is hosting our first annual Suicide Prevention Walk to raise awareness in our community. The event will be at the high school track from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

The event will include a guest speaker, a memorial wall for students and community members to remember friends and family lost to suicide, a guest speaker, a time to walk around the track and reflect, and a balloon release.  

TRY club and Student Council members will be selling balloons for the release and all funds raised will be contributed towards suicide prevention and awareness foundations.  Balloons will be sold at school the week before the event and also at the event for $2/each or $5 for 3 balloons.
