The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department provided the following news release:

This year Yorkville’s Hometown Days festival begins on Thursday, Aug. 30 as Family Fun Night kicks off the 20th annual festival with a $1 per ride carnival special beginning at 5 p.m. and continuing until 9 p.m. at Beecher Community Park, 908 Game Farm Rd..

There also will be $1 food, candy, ice cream and pop/water at the Beecher Concession Stand during Thursday Family Fun Night.

And that’s just the beginning. The festival runs the entire Labor Day Weekend from Thursday, Aug. 30 to Sunday, Sept. 2.! Throughout the weekend, enjoy food, games and contests, carnival rides, magic shows, free family activities, live music, the Pride and Joy Car Show, baby contest, bean bag tournament and much more! This year’s selection of foods and beverages is sure to get your mouth watering!
