The Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce Green Committee provided the following news release:

A FREE children’s art activity and Environmental Art Fair will be going on as part of the GO GREEN Environmental Fair– sponsored by the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce Green Committee and City of Yorkville from 11am-3pm on Saturday, April 21^stYorkville Public Library (902 Game Farm Road, Yorkville).The activity is open to all community members. 

The GO GREEN Environmental Fair will take place across parking lot from Library at Beecher Community Center at (908 Game Farm Road, Yorkville).

Call to Young Artists-- Young artists (from grades K- 12) are encouraged to enter their artwork for an exhibition as part of Yorkville’s Go Green Environmental Fair on Saturday April 21, 2012, from 11am-3pm.  “Go Green” is looking for young artists to submit 2-D or 3-D art (either self-created or collaborative works) for the exhibition; works must be created with an environmentally-inspired theme, or made from recycled, re-useable or environmentally friendly materials.

To Apply:  We encourage submissions from 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional visual artists, as well as collaborative works.

Requirements: Application (completed by parent/guardian or teacher) due on/before April 15, 2012.  Art drop-off for registered participants is scheduled for Friday, April 20 between 5-6pm at Beecher Community Center.

Art may also be dropped off at Fox River Academy of Music and Art anytime before April 19. Teachers may arrange for group projects or classes to be picked up (before April 19); please contact Karen at 630-551-4321 to arrange a date/time.

Art Types: 2-D, 3-D, collaborative works

Age Groups: Kindergarten age through 12^th Grade

Size Restrictions: Art work should not exceed size of 18x24 sq. in. for individual works; if special individual or collaborative works exceed 24x36 sq. in., please contact info@foxriveracademy.com or call Karen at 630-551-4321.  Measurement restrictions apply to both 2-D and 3-D works.
