Bullying Seminar Wednesday Evening

Local police and law enforcement personnel will speak about bullying and cyber-bullying Wednesday at Yorkville Middle School, 920 Prairie Crossing Drive.

The free hour-long presentation will start at 7 p.m.

Speakers are Kendall County State's Attorney Eric Weis, Oswego Police Sgt. Jason Bastin, Oswego East High School Dean of Students Jen Wikoff, Kendall County Associate Judge Melissa Barnhart and Marti Neahring, Aurora West School District Director of Registration, Residency and Student Discipline.

The seminar is hosted by the Juvenile Justice Council, the Grundy/Kendall County Regional Office of Education, and several school districts.

This should be held as an assembly in all of the schools. It should be mandatory. People feel so safe to call others out behind the screen, and they forget they could be influencing others to cause self harm. It would be great to see this seminar in the schools.
