American Legion to Host Benefit for LCpl. Kyle Moser
The Yorkville American Legion Post 489 provided the following news release:
The Yorkville American Legion Post 489 Yorkville will be holding a Benefit and Honor Ride for LCpl. Kyle Moser on June 3rd. Kyle is a 20 year old local soldier from Oswego who lost both of his legs and part of his hand defending our country. It is our turn to defend him. Kyle grew up in Oswego and just celebrated his one year anniversary with his wife Alex, who is from Yorkville. Kyle is currently undergoing therapy to learn to walk again with his new prosthetic legs and is facing more surgeries and therapy for another year.
The Benefit is open to the public. The Benefit admission tickets at the door will be $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children 12 and under, and infants, no charge. Families are encouraged to attend. Your ticket price includes food – pig roast, hamburgers, hot dogs, side dishes, and desserts. Entertainment for the afternoon will be a one hour patriotic musical salute by Joe Cantafio, of the 101 Rock Division, and then the Never 2 Late Band will play. There will be silent auctions going on in the afternoon, 50/50, raffles and door prizes. Some of the items to be auctioned off are a new mountain bike, poker table top, and more. Doors open at 1 pm and the Benefit will continue until 6 pm. There also will be a bounce house for the kids.
The Sons of the American Legion will be conducting a draw down that day, also. Tickets are now available for $20.00, and up until 4:00 pm, the day of the Benefit, at the Legion. There will be multiple winners during the drawing, and the last ticket drawn will win $1,000.00. You need not be present to win.
All Motorcycle Riders and groups are invited to join the Honor Ride for Kyle, the morning of the Benefit. Registration starts at 10:30 am at the post until noon. Your $10.00 per person registration fee, includes admission to the Benefit in the afternoon. Kickstands up at 12:30 pm, with the ride ending at the Legion around 1:30 pm.
The Bristol-Kendall Fire Department, Fire Barn #1 on Rt 47 will be holding a breakfast that morning, and if you mention the American Legion Riders, a part of price of your breakfast will go to the Benefit. The Breakfast time is 7 am – noon.
Benefit admission tickets of $10.00 can also be purchased before June 3rd at the Yorkville American Legion, which is located one mile east of the Rt 34 and Rt 47 intersection, on Rt 34.
These tickets are also available at the Oswego Community Bank, the Castle Bank located at Countryside (Rt 34) and the Castle Bank located on Rt. 34 west of Orchard Rd in Yorkville. If you cannot attend the Benefit please consider purchasing a Benefit ticket to help one of our own. We will also appreciate the donation of items for us to use in our raffles.
